NTC Thermistors: Application Field and Working Principle
A Negative Temperature Coefficient (NTC) thermistor is a type of temperature sensor, typically a ceramic thermistor, which has a resistance that decreases with temperature. NTC thermistors are often used to measure temperature or detect its change, detect over-heating situations, and many other temperature-dependent applications that require precision. The operating temperature range for the NTC thermistor typically ranges from -50°C to 150°C, with typical values of -45\u00B0C to 125\u00B0C depending on the type of thermistor. The Steinhart-Hart equation can be used to calculate the temperature using the measured resistance.
