The OMAP-L138EZCED4 is a low-power, dual-core solution for embedded applications. It is based on an ARM® Cortex™-A8 core with a low-power C663x DSP core at the heart. The combination of powerful cores increases performance and efficiency for real-time multimedia, imaging and communication applications.

OMAP-L138EZCED4 is designed to reduce the power consumption and cost of products, while providing performance enhancements. The OMAP-L138EZCED4 is fully integrated, including two ARM cores (Cortex-A8 and C64x+TM DSP), a 2D/3D graphics engine, power management and security, multimedia acceleration and much more. Combined, these features provide developers a comprehensive solution to create a wide range of embedded designs.

Working Principle

OMAP-L138EZCED4 is based on an ARM® Cortex™-A8 core coupled with a low-power C663x DSP core.The combination of these dual-core architectures offers an unprecedented level of performance, energy efficiency and scalability. The ARM Cortex-A8 core offers general purpose processing – providing a good performance/power ratio while fulfilling most of the requirements of the target application.
