The OP316B is an optoisolator – transistor, photovoltaic output, consisting of an infrared emitting diode (IRED) and a normal-gain silicon phototransistor housed side-by-side in a small plastic package. It provides over 500V of electrical insulation between the input and the output. TheOP316B enables data communication over two-wire and multi-wire circuits, serves as an isolation barrier in current loop systems, and provides protection from over voltage conditions.
