OPA2704EA/250G4 application field and working principle

The OPA2704EA/250G4 is a monolithic integrated circuit designed for Linear-Amplifiers Instrumentation, OP Amps, Buffer Amps and other applications where differential inputs, rail-to-rail outputs and low noise, wide bandwidth performance are needed.

The OPA2704EA/250G4 has numerous features such as a wide range of supply currents, low input bias currents, low offset and drift currents, fast output slew rates and a low input offset voltage. All together they make it ideal for high precision data acquisition and ultra-low noise applications.

The OPA2704EA/250G4 comes in a dual in-line package (DIP) and operates from a Supply Voltage range from 5 V to 36 V, with a maximum current of 3.2 mA per channel. It is specified for operation over the temperature range of -55°C to +125°C.

The OPA2704EA/250G4 features differential compatibility across the full supply range, a rail-to-rail input common mode voltage (VICM), rail-to-rail output swing (Vo), low input bias current (IB), high open loop gain (GOL), fast output slew rate (SR) and fast settling time to 0.01%.

The OPA2704EA/250G4 designed with the traditional four transistor amplifier topology. There are two input transistors and two output transistors, controlled by a differential gain stage operating from the positive supply voltage (Vcc). The input transistors are forward biased by a small amount of current supplied by the gain stage, which increases the input impedance, providing high CMRR (Common Mode Rejection Ratio).

The output transistors are connected in common collector configuration, driving an output buffer. The output transistors are direct coupled to the output buffer, which provides rail-to-rail output voltage swing and ensures low output impedance and fast output current settling times.

The OPA2704EA/250G4 is also designed with an internal compensation circuit, which ensures stable operation of the amplifier over its full supply voltage and temperature range. This design also provides an accurate temperature coefficient, minimal phase shift at high frequency and excellent bandwidth-to-slew-rate performance.
