1. Describe

The OPA2705EA/250 family of low-cost op amps are optimized for applications requiring rail-to-rail input and output swing. Single, dual and quad versions are available in a variety of packages. Although the quiescent current per amplifier is less than 200µA, the OPA2705EA/250 still provides excellent dynamic performance (1MHz GBW and 0.6V/µs SR) and unity gain stability. The OPA705 family is fully specified and guaranteed over a ±2V to ±6V supply range. The input swing extends 300mV beyond the voltage rail, and the output swings to within 40mV of the rail. MicroSIZE is available in a single version (OPA705) SOT23-5 and standard SO-8 surface mount packages. A dual version (OPA2705) is available in MSOP-8, SO-8 and DIP-8 packages. The quad OPA4705 is available in TSSOP-14 and SO-14 packages. All specified for an operating temperature range of –40°C to +85°C.

5. Application Information

The OPA2705EA/250 series op amps operate at 160µA quiescent current from a single (or split) supply in the 4V to 12V (±2V to ±6V) range, making them highly versatile and easy to use. The OPA705 is unity-gain stable and offers 1MHz bandwidth and 0.6V/µs slew rate. Rail-to-rail input and output swings help maintain dynamic range, especially in low-supply applications. Operation comes from ±5V supplies with a 100kΩ load connected to VS/2. The input is a 10Vp-p sine wave. The output voltage is about 10Vp-p. The power pins should use a 1000pF ceramic capacitor in parallel with a 1µF tantalum capacitor.
