The OPA547EVM is a evaluation board designed to demonstrate and evaluate ti’s latest OPA547 high voltage, wide bandwidth current feedback amplifier. This Evaluation Kit consists of a high performance board along with user control and image capture software. This board is ideal for applications in test and measurement, medical imaging, audio pre-amplification, high-end optical systems and industrial process control.

In this application field, OPA547EVM is able to provide affordable performance and features that makes it well suited for high power and wide bandwidth video, medical and industrial applications. The variations in the specification of OPA547EVM enables it to be used for a wide range of tasks such as boosting the power of a magnetic audio preamplifier, adding some colour to a video camera and testing a potentiostat.

The basic working principle of OPA547EVM is based on the principles of Current Feedback Amplifier (CFA).It splits the total signal into two path, each of which is processed separately. The first part of the signal is Input Variation and the second is Frequency Response. The input variation is controlled by using a feedback resistor, which ensures that the input signals will be converted to a desired output voltage. The Frequency Response is controlled by setting the position of the Gain Resistor. The Gain Resistor provides a low frequency damping and high frequency boost result to improve the signal fidelity.

The OPA547EVM Evaluation Board is powered by a -3V to +6V bipolar power supply and a 2.2 uF Low ESR output capacitor. The board also features an adjustable gain resistor, adjustable input stages and an output stage. The board is able to handle input signals of up to 7V p-p and output signals of up to 10V p-p, allowing for a wide range of audio and video applications.
