The OPA659EVM is a comprehensive evaluation tool for the OPA659, a low distortion, low offset, low noise and high precision audio operational amplifier. The OPA659EVM evaluation module is designed to evaluate the basic operating features of the OPA659 operational amplifier, such as bandwidth, power supply, offset voltage, gain, slew rate, input common-mode range and stability.
The OPA659EVM board includes a buffet board, a DIP switch bank and a rotary encoder knob, three analog audio inputs and three analog audio outputs, as well as digital I/O banana jack connections, which provide an effective platform for users to optimize their applications. The OPA659EVM also has two USB ports, one for the PC and the other for in-circuit programming and monitoring.
The OPA659 amplifier is a versatile device with extensive features. It has a wide supply voltage range of 2.5V to 5V and a low quiescent current of 70mA which helps to reduce power consumption. It is suitable for voice and audio signal amplification applications. And it also features excellent temperature stability with a zero drift of ± 0.05mV over a -25°C to 85°C range.
The OPA659EVM board has the ability to operate in three modes: transformerless, capacitor coupled, and base drive. In the transformerless mode, the OPA659EVM provides a voltage gain of 60dB, while in the other two it provides a gain of 20dB. This feature allows the amplifier to be easily adapted to a variety of signal conditioning applications. The board also features digital I/O capabilities and a buffered 6MHz clock input, making it suitable for DSP applications.
The OPA659EVM board facilitates the testing and evaluation of the OPA659 operational amplifiers\' performance parameters such as speed, offset, distortion, noise, and linearity. The board includes a selectable gain switch which can be set to +1x, -1x, 2x, or 1/2x. The rotary encoder knob allows for fine adjustment of the gain and the DIP switch bank provides user-adjustable settings for a variety of characteristics, such as frequency response, slew rate, feedback, and output voltage. The buffering and connection schemes also allow for the amplifier to be connected directly to a PC for evaluation.
The OPA659EVM is an all-in-one platform to evaluate and test the OPA659 operational amplifiers and their potential applications.
