OPV314F is a special type of laser diode module which is applied in different industries for varied purposes like display device components, wafer level packaging facilities, and scanning attachments. Features and Specifications:

Physical Dimensions: OPV314F is a small sized laser diode module that is highly compact and endure extreme temperature ranging from -25°C to +90°C. It measures an overall length of 90mm and width of 22mm. The module has been constructed of ribbed aluminium and boasts a textured black surface.

Optical Output: It usually emits up to 10mW optical power. The line width of the module is usually about 200 kHz, while the coherence length varies between 1 $\mu$m to 10 $\mu$m. In terms of power stability, the voltage increases due to the high temperature; and the optical output power varies between 0 mW to 10 mW.

Features: This laser diode module is applicable for multiple applications. It is perfectly designed with a filtered laser diode and photodetector to monitor the output power. Its all-in-one coil attachment wraps around the diode with its own built-in IC that can adjust the current level of diode appropriately. It also incorporates a dedicated thermal sensor to assist in thermal regulation and efficient power cycling. The device is extremely safe and has an TTL compatibility.

Working Principle:

OPV314F is a strong laser diode device which works based on the principle of direct laser diode emission. It utilizes photon-phonon effect to perform the emission process and also has an integrated laser diode driver for real-time current tuning. The device has two electrical terminals to provide the required electrical supply to the diode. The external connection does not interfere with the purposed optical/electrical characteristics of the device and allows the device to maintain a stable laser emission.

The current controllers and drivers direct the required current to the diode and the power delivered is then emitted to the outside air as light. A precision G-type optical filter is also included in the device in order to set the emissions at a particular wavelength enabling stable laser output. The integrated laser diode drivers allow the user to tune the current precisely in real-time. Its built-in temperature sensors are highly efficient in regulating the current level of the device, thus decreasing the noise caused by thermal fluctuations.

OPV314F uses its built-in thermal regulation system which adjusts the operation temperature of the laser module based on the temperature reading of the sensitive component. The thermal sensing system of the module modifies the laser diode’s current level to achieve the required thermal regulation. This is a process in which the module utilizes its internal current driver circuit and the external temperature sensor to regulate the diode current according to the ambient temperature in order to adjust the output optical power.

Applications:

OPV314F is popularly used in display devices, wafer level packaging facilities, and scanning attachments. It is also used in fiber optic communications, industrial metrology systems, and medical instrumentation. The module is highly convenient in optical sensors, optical communication systems, reflow soldering and print welding process, and Solid Immersion lenses (SIL). Optical pickups used in CD and DVD players are also developed from the modules.
