Working Principle

OV05650-A66A works by capturing light from an external image and translating that light into a digital signal. This image sensor utilizes a complimentary metal–oxide–semiconductor (CMOS) technology for image capture. The CMOS image sensor technology makes use of a semiconductor device consisting of an array of light sensing elements called pixels. The light is then converted into a flow of electrons and the quantity of electrons is related to the intensity of the light.

These pixels are organized into separate color filters called Bayer Mosaic and then read by the sensor. This process is followed by analog to digital conversion of the electrons into a digital representation form of the light intensity. The resulting color images are then further processed to provide improved image quality and greater image accuracy.
