P0720Q22CLRP Working Principle
The P0720Q22CLRP thyristor is designed to operate in two fundamental modes: on/off and unidirectional. The thyristor is built from three basic semiconductor layers: a Control Terminal (CT), a Control Gate (CG), and an Anode (A). The two back-to-back junctions form a PNPN structure, which is essential for switching the main current. When the Control Terminal is at a certain potential, the P-N junction between the Control Gate and the Anode becomes forward-biased, allowing current to flow from the Control Gate to the Anode. The thyristor then switches on, and the current flows through its Control Gate to the anode and ends with the cathode. The thyristor turns off when the voltage across its Control Terminal drops below a certain value.
