P0904UCTP is a versatile thyristor usually applied in circuits and power systems. It is an efficient, reliable and cost- effective solution for many industrial and consumer applications. The working principle of P0904UCTP is based on the triggering voltage applied to the gate to turn the device on and off. If the gate voltage of P0904UCTP is high enough to exceed the break-over voltage, then the current through the device will increase rapidly and the device will turn on. This break-over voltage is known as the “triggering” or “switching” voltage.

In general, the triggering voltage of P0904UCTP ranges from 5V to 75V. The rated current range is up to 5A. When in the "off" state, P0904UCTP can handle high fault current, so no external "snubber" is required. This makes them suitable for high-current applications.
