The device offers a complete protection feature set to guard against damage from RF, EMI, ESD, electrostatic, and inductive/capacitive overvoltages. It offers a wide range of features to provide best-in-class protection. The device is based on positive Silicon-Gate (hEDM) technology, which incorporates a layered protection architecture. The base layer provides basic overcharge protection and is combined with a second layer to provide protection from indications of excessive current due to RF/EMI. A third layer is integrated with the basic protection layer to provide protection from overvoltages due to ESD.The device provides instantaneous protection against ESD at up to 10 kV for robust system level protection. The integrated ESD protection circuitry is activated by a reverse-biased PN junction diode. When the ESD current is detected, an overvoltage is generated and the protection circuitry is activated. The integrated ESD protection provided by the device helps protect against EMI pulses as well.The P1101UARP also provides high-frequency protection in the range of 1-8 GHz for extra protection against fast transients.
