Its maximum peak pulse power dissipation is 350W (8/20μs waveform) and its maximum surge peak current is 135A (8/20μs waveform).

Working Principle of P4KE75

The P4KE75 is a fabricated through-hole TVS diode that works by redirecting electrical current away from circuitry in the form of a negative voltage spike. This voltage spike is generated when a transient-trigger event such as ESD, lightning, or other electrical transient that exceeds the rated voltage of the P4KE75 occurs. As a result, it immediately routes the energy away from the sensitive components of the circuit thereby protecting them from damage and allowing normal operation to resume.

Furthermore, the P4KE75 has the capability to absorb large amounts of voltage spikes. This is due to its low forward voltage drop of 1.2V at 10A which allows it to absorb large surge currents without failing. Due to this capability, it is not only suitable for transient protection but also for over-current protection.

Additionally, the P4KE75 also has a clamping voltage of around 30-50V depending on the current so that circuit protection is ensured at the same time. This clamping voltage can be adjusted to the required value to effectively suppress different over-voltage conditions while ensuring reliable protection of the sensitive components in the circuit.
