Evaluation and Demonstration Boards and KitsThe P9028-EVK Evaluation and Demonstration Board (EVK) is an essential tool used to evaluate and test the P9028 controller. It is designed to make sure the functionality and features of the controller work as needed. This board could also be used to program and tune controller configuration parameters.The EVK also helps provide capabilities to the system designer to evaluate the development of their product and also demonstrate the product performance. The EVK helps provide development testing capability such as speed controlled acceleration ramp tests, rotary encoder handling and IO expansion board demonstration.The EVK consists of all the major components needed to evaluate and demonstrate the functionality of the P9028-EVK. These components include an eight (8) output PMDC motor driver, a power supply, an imager, a control module and an enclosure. Also included are expansion boards, a rotary encoder and a CAN bus.The PMDC motor driver controls the PMDC motors, which are typically used in industrial and hobby robotics. This driver is capable of providing up to 8 separate outputs that are independently controlled. The power supply is used to provide power to the imager and to the control module. The imager provides visual feedback to the controller for object recognition and navigation. The control module is responsible for the overall control of the EVK.The EVK also includes expansion boards, which provide the capability to interface with peripherals such as sensors, audio and video inputs, GPS systems, and other external devices. The rotary encoder is used to allow the user to control the EVK via physical buttons or joysticks. The CAN bus is used to connect the EVK to other external devices and between two or more EVKs.
