Optoisolators are a family of semiconductor devices which provide galvanic isolation between two electrical circuits or networks. A type of optically-coupled phototransistor, PC4N290YSZX is designed to transmit signals between digital, analog, and optically isolated signals. When optically coupled to a photodiode or other light-driven device, it provides an isolated output current limited to 1.5mA DC.
