PC928 Application Field and Working Principle

PC928 is a kind of isolator – gate driver, which mainly used on assembling line. With a voltage driver device and special output stage, PC928 can provide high power and voltage for MOSFETS or IGBTs in an electrical circuit. Meanwhile, there is an isolation process between its input part and output part, to reduce the influence of interference to driver. Thus PC928 is capable of solving many kind of low-voltage and high-power applications. The PC928’s working principle is quite simple. It firstly accepts input voltage from DC sources and transforms them into AC, then use two isolated transformers to transfer the current to output part. After the current reaches output stage, it will be transformed into a high voltage and later sent to controller. With the presence of these two stages of transformation, the current in output part can be kept highly stable, which assures the work safety of electrical circuit. PC928 normally has 6 outputs, which means it can provide continuous power to 6 different parts in circuit. In addition, PC928 has two built-in drivers to reduce the effect of interference over the whole circuit. Therefore, PC928 is quite suitable for applications where need strong anti-interference capability. The ability of PC928 to guarantee work safety and reduce interference is one of its main advantages. However, there are also some limitations. For instance, PC928 runs with a voltage around 70V, thus if there is a slight voltage drop, it can cause short circuit in some limited cases. Therefore, when you need to use this kind of isolator - gate drivers, you should firstly make sure the voltage of power sources is above 70V.
