Power Relays, Over 2 Amps
The PCD-105D1M is a Power Relay designed for applications that require switching or controlling the power of 2 amps or more. Typical applications include switching high currents, motor control, and motor protection. The PCD-105D1M features an extra-long contact life, a wide operating temperature range, and a wide voltage range.
Design
The PCD-105D1M features two power contacts, rated for 2 to 10A. The contacts are made of silver-cadmium oxide alloy and are rated at UL 200V and CSA 250V. The contact gap is wide enough to accommodate for oversized loading and to ensure proper contact alignment. The full-enclosed electromagnetic unit construction helps to protect against wear and tear. The PCD-105D1M also features a self-cleaning continuous arcing-type contact gap which helps to minimize electrical arcing and improve contact reliability.
Working Principle
When the coil of the PCD-105D1M is energized, an electromagnet is created which causes the armature to move and create a moving contact between the two power contacts. This creates a closed circuit and allows power to flow. When the coil is de-energized the electromagnetic force is removed and the armature moves back and reopens the contact, breaking the circuit and stopping the flow of power. This is the basic principle which all power relays work on.
Features & Benefits
The PCD-105D1M is designed for applications which require high current switching. Its extra long contact life, wide operating temperature range, and wide voltage range make it a reliable and versatile choice. The full-enclosed electromagnetic unit construction helps to protect against wear and tear. The PCD-105D1M also features a self-cleaning continuous arcing-type contact gap which helps to minimize electrical arcing and improve contact reliability. All in all, the PCD-105D1M is a reliable and powerful choice for applications which require power relays capable of handling high currents.
