Through hole resistors, typically having a cylindrical body, and 2 wires, are the most commonly used resistors for electrical and electronic engineering and prototyping. The ‘through hole’ name is derived from these having two leads that inserted separately into a relatively large hole in a component block or printed circuit board (PCB).
