The PDM30US-12 features an open circuit voltage rating of 12V, with a DC output voltage range of 4.5V up to 12V. Its over current, over heat and short circuit protection ensures the safety of the device. It can also be used for a variety of applications which require a 60W or less power supply.

Working Principle

The PDM30US-12 works on the principle of switching the input voltage to the required output voltage. The input voltage can be AC or DC. First, the unit uses an AC/DC converter and Rectifier which converts the AC voltage to a DC voltage. This DC voltage is then passed on to the next components: the high frequency DC-DC converter, the buck converter and the switching elements. The buck converter takes the input voltage and adjusts the output voltage, depending on the load of the device. The switching elements control the output voltage by regulating the current flow. Finally, the output voltage is regulated with the help of the power transformer.
