PEC02SAAN Rectangular Connectors – Headers, Male Pins, are a versatile range of two-part polarizing connector systems with 0.2mm pitch contacts. These headers are designed to withstand demanding industrial and data communication applications. They offer excellent stability for a variety of applications.
The PEC02SAAN connectors have two mating halves, a header and a male pin. The header consists of a two-piece plastic base with slots and a cut-out to hold the male pin. The male pin is a two-part rectangular plug with two pins protruding from each side. The pins are either straight or curved to fit the corresponding mating connectors. The pin is held in place by a metal sleeve that is secured to the plastic base of the header. The sleeve serves to guide and support the male pin during mating. The mating halves of the connectors have unique polarization and keying features to ensure correct alignment.
The PEC02SAAN connectors have been designed to economically produce reliable and highly contactable connections. The headers are available in three options: straight, angled and in a split configuration. The male pins are available with straight, angled or split pins for a variety of applications. The low profile headers provide excellent contact stability under harsh environmental conditions.
The PEC02SAAN rectangular connectors are primarily used in telecommunications, audio/visual equipment, air conditioning systems, communications networks, security systems, as well as in the automotive and industrial sectors. They are ideal for high-speed serial digital signals, digital and analog video signals, and low-speed data signals. The headers feature plated contacts that are resistant to atmospheric corrosion and can be re-mated and reworked up to 500 times.
The working of the PEC02SAAN rectangular connectors begins with the properly positioned and aligned header and the male pin. When correctly aligned, the pins of the header and pin are brought into contact. Once in contact, the pins exert a mechanical pull towards each other that, combined with the force of the counter pins on the header, forms a tight and reliable contact.
