The working principle of PG02S0503A DC DC converters is based on the Buck Topology. This topology can be categorized into two switching operation modes, the Continuous Conduction Mode (CCM) and the Discontinuous Conduction Mode (DCM). This is achieved by using a transformer with a feedback system that senses the amount of current flowing in the transformer and adjust the gate issue to maintain the proper voltage. In DCM the current gradually decreases as voltage increases, up to a point where the transformer circuit is completely saturated. At this point the current abruptly falls to zero.
