PGA-LSTB Application Field and Working Principle
PGA-LSTB (Phased-Guard Array Large-Scale Tether-Based) is a passive power delivery, monitoring and control system designed for transportation, logistics, and utilities systems. It is used for a variety of applications, including smart supply chain monitoring and management, monitoring of vehicle movements, and vehicle charging. It is also used to track the oil and gas industry, and for railway signaling and communications.
The PGA-LSTB system consists of a large scale antenna array, mounted in the ground, and several deployed tethers, connecting the antenna array to a local on ground processor. This system provides high precision in determining the position, orientation, and velocity of a target vehicle or asset. This system can also be used to measure and monitor fuel efficiency, environmental conditions, such as temperature and humidity, and for remote control of vehicle functions.
The antenna array is composed of several antennas arranged in a phased-guard array configuration to achieve a wide coverage area. This antenna array is connected to the large scale tethers which enable larger distance coverage and more accurate positioning results. The tethers are constructed in several different configurations including, multiple-antenna-iso-polar-antenna (MAIPA) and steerable antenna array (SAA). Each antenna configuration has its own advantages and can be used in a variety of applications.
The PGA-LSTB system is powered by electricity in the form of power supplied by the grid or battery. The antenna array is connected to the power supply via the large-scale tethers, which in turn power the local on-ground processor. This processor is responsible for transforming and processing the signals from the antenna array and converting them into digital signals for further processing.
The radio frequency signals collected by the antenna array are then converted to digital signals by the on-ground processor. These digital signals are further interpreted through software, which enables the calculation of position, orientation, and velocity of the target. The data, collected from the antenna array, is then further processed to calculate and monitor fuel efficiency, environmental conditions, and vehicle functions.
PGA-LSTB systems offer a reliable and accurate solution for improving the performance and safety of transportation, logistics, and utility systems. It is also a cost effective solution for tracking and monitoring the transportation of oil and gas, railway signaling and communications, and charging capabilities for electric vehicles. With its wide coverage area and varying antenna configurations, PGA-LSTB is well suited for a variety of applications and provides accurate and reliable performance.
