Working Principle of PGA2310EVM

PGA2310 integrated circuit is the heart of the PGA2310 Evaluation Board (PGA2310EVM). It consists of a low noise amplifier, and adjustable level of gain, and a 5V charge pump power supply. The PGA2310EVM also includes a Microchip PIC18F67J50 microcontroller with accompanying peripherals such as a power switch, several voltage level shifting circuits, and a voltage reference. All of these components interface with an I2C compatible port to allow flexibility in controlling the board.

Due to the adjustable gain control, the amplifier can be set to a level that is best suited for the application. This can be manual or computer controlled allowing for software changes to the amplifier\'s characteristics without changing the components.
