Ground Fault Circuit Interrupters (GFCIs) are devices used to prevent dangerous electrical shocks by immediately shutting down the power when an imbalance is detected in the current. The PGFS-13105 is a GFCI designed to detect ground faults of 6–42mA in various applications. It has a response time of less than 1 second, which makes it suitable for residential and commercial use.
The PGFS-13105 uses a combination of electro-mechanical protection and electronic protection to detect ground faults. The electro-mechanical protection uses an air or gas-filled bladder to detect an imbalance in the current. If a ground fault is detected, the bladder will expand, causing the contacts in the circuit breaker to separate and shut down the power to the circuit. The electronic protection uses a current sensor to measure the current in the circuit. The sensor will set off the breaker if the difference between the neutral and ground current exceeds the threshold of 6-42 mA. This eliminates the need for the bladder and the associated mechanical parts, resulting in a lower cost, smaller size, and faster response time.
The PGFS-13105 is designed for use in a variety of residential and commercial applications and is UL certified for compatibility with 120/240V single phase systems. It can also be used as an industrial GFCI for applications up to 600V and can detect ground faults up to 6kV. It is suitable for use in wet and damp environments and can handle ambient temperatures between -20°C to +80°C.
The PGFS-13105 is designed to be easy to install and maintain. It has a test button to allow easy testing of the device and a reset button to easily restore power. It also has indicator lights to show if the GFCI is in tripped or normal operation. The PGFS-13105 is also designed for easy replacement, with the ability to replace existing GFCIs without the need for a dedicated junction box.
The PGFS-13105 GFCI is a reliable and economical way to protect against potentially dangerous ground faults in residential and commercial applications. It offers quick response times and is UL certified for 120/240V systems. It is designed to be easy to install, maintain, and replace, making it the ideal choice for a variety of applications.
