The PI3423-00-EVAL1 evaluation board is designed to demonstrate the functionality and efficiency of systems involving DC/DC and AC/DC SMPS switching power supplies. It is a turnkey evaluation board suitable for a variety of projects, including evaluation of the latest high-efficiency Buck and Boost switched-mode power supplies (SMPS). It offers quick and easy evaluation of all the essential features and performance parameters associated with both AC/DC and DC/DC switching power supplies in a wide range of input and output voltages.The PI3423-00-EVAL1 evaluation board is a two-sided, single-layer board assembled and populated with components that are necessary for evaluation of the latest high-efficiency Buck switching power supplies. It includes an adjustable power output, input supply, power amplifier, auxiliary circuits, and a ballooning/short circuit detection circuit. The board also includes two test points for ease of probing and monitoring of parameters such as voltage, current, power, frequency, etc. The PI3423-00-EVAL1 evaluation board is a ready-to-use evaluation platform, capable of providing experimental support for developing and evaluating efficient, reliable and cost-effective DC/DC and AC/DC switching power systems. With its adjustable output power levels and output voltages, this evaluation board can be used to test and evaluate a wide range of application scenarios. It is ideal for testing the efficiency level and other performance parameters of high-efficiency Buck and Boost SMPS systems, including efficiency, light load performance, start-up time, dynamic response, and ripple noise.The PI3423-00-EVAL1 evaluation board is specifically designed to offer an easy-to-use platform for quickly evaluating the performance, behavior, and functionality of DC/DC and AC/DC SMPS switching power supplies. Working with the supplied software, one can adjust output voltage, current, and other parameters. The board supports both low-side and high-side SMPS configurations. The overall functionality and size of the board can be adjusted using various sides/sections of the board. Depending on the desired output power and system application, one can configure the board for low- or high-power outputs. In addition, the PI3423-00-EVAL1 evaluation board includes a ballooning/short-circuit detection circuit that triggers an audible alarm when the power output exceeds a safe level. The internal circuitry of the board also includes thermal protection and a shut-down feature in case of any faults. The PI3423-00-EVAL1 evaluation board uses a switched-mode architecture. This architecture consists of two main parts-the control IC and the power section.
