PI3HDMI412ADZBEX Integrated Circuits (ICs)

PI3HDMI412ADZBEX is an interface specialized device which is mainly used in satisfying high speed signaling requirement. It integrates four channels HDMI 1.4a link and each link includes four differential channels with data rate up to 3.4 Gbps, supporting transmission of uncompressed full HD audio and video.

PI3HDMI412ADZBEX finds its application field mainly in the medical equipment, automotive display, projector and vehicle media, etc. due to its low power consumption, small size, high speed, and low EMI.

Working Principle:

The main function of PI3HDMI412ADZBEX is to convert digital signals from source device to HDMI display format, it has four infrastructure blocks, Input MUX/De-mux, Output MUX/De-mux, Video & Audio processing, Control & Auxiliary circuit.

First the audio and video signals from external source get stripped down by Input MUX/De-mux into a stream of bits and it is passed to the Video and Audio processing blocks.

Video and Audio processing block would encode and convert data into HDMI display format as defined in HDMI1.4 specification, which includes parameters like frame rate,number of fields per frame, interlaced/progressive mode, audio type, number of audio channels etc.

The Encoded data from Video and Audio processing block is multiplexed again by an Output MUX before output to HDMI display and both the MUX/De-MUX blocks are controlled by a Control & Auxiliary logic.

Futher, the data lines and control lines from source device are connected to the HDMI transmitter and HDMI receiver connected to the display device via PI3HDMI412ADZBEX depending on the application.

PI3HDMI412ADZBEX supports both HDMI1.4a source and sink protocols and provides numerous combinations of output video resolutions. Besides it supports internal EDID emulation and EDID ROM internally, which provides an excellent compatibility with the HDMI display.
