The PI6LC48S25ZBBE is a clock buffer, driver, and distribution network solution designed to deliver robust signal distribution and advanced signal conditioning for timing clocks. The PI6LC48S25ZBBE design ensures a low additive jitter for true signal integrity in signal distribution applications that require low sinusoidal jitter noise and low additive jittering.The PI6LC48S25ZBBE has two distinct signal paths. The distributed path consists of two multipliers, a low-jitter buffer, and a variable source impedance. The source impedance is adjustable from 0.035 to 0.09 ohms in 0.015-ohm increments. The variable source impedance, when combined with a first-order high-pass filter, enables the PI6LC48S25ZBBE to reject high frequency jitter that may be present in the distribution network.The second signal path in the PI6LC48S25ZBBE is the signal conditioning path. This path consists of a four-phase driver, which provides reduced additive jitter while maintaining a low jitter profile. The four-phase driver can enable single-ended-to-differential mode conversion and clock range expansion. A low-frequency sine-wave jitter shaper further improves clock performance. This jitter shaping technology reduces jitter by filtering out jitter components with frequencies of three times or less the cyclical frequency of the clock signal.The PI6LC48S25ZBBE also has two jumper settings that can be used to adjust the output drive strength.
