Evaluation and Demonstration Boards and Kits: PI7C9X7954AEVB Application Field and Working PrincipleEvaluation and demonstration boards and kits are designed with specific microcontroller-based applications in mind; in particular, the PI7C9X7954AEVB is a generic controller-based evaluation and demonstration board produced by Intel. This board is designed to support hardware-assisted PCI Express bus implementations.The PI7C9X7954AEVB is a flexible input/output device for evaluating new designs and developing PCIe applications on a wide range of products. It consists of four different components, which are its control, evaluation, signal-chain components, and connector. The control of the board includes a MCU (Microcontroller Unit) that is responsible for programming the FPGA, and a 9-bit wide bus is used to transfer data between the MCU and FPGA itself. An I/O planar is used for both data initialization as well as data communication between the MCU and FPGA. The signal-chain components of the PI7C9X7954AEVB include multiplexers and bus drivers for XOR and YOR functions.
