PL602-21TC-R is one such technology, which is a high-performance, full-featured clock generator, Phase-Locked Loop (PLL) and frequency synthesizer solution. It is reverse compatible with the “Low-Side Loop” architecture and other legacy architectures.

Working Principle

The PL602-21TC-R uses the “Low-Side Loop” architecture to generate a wide range of clock frequencies. This architecture uses a fractional-N digital phase-locked loop (DPLL) to generate the desired clock frequencies. The clock synthesizer is designed to generate a wide range of frequencies from low frequency to high frequency. The DPLL locks onto a reference clock source and produces a clean frequency corresponding to the reference source. This process is referred to as locking in frequency.

The DPLL uses a combination of the reference clock, a numerically-controlled oscillator (NCO), and a phase detector to generate a feedback signal, which is then used to compare and adjust the frequency. The fractional-N architecture enables the NCO to generate a smooth and controllable frequency. The phase detector is used to compare the phase of the reference clock and the output clock, and to generate a feedback signal which is used to adjust the output frequency. The output clock is then generated based on the frequency or phase of the reference clock.

The PL602-21TC-R also includes a comprehensive feature set to provide the flexibility and control required for different applications.
