This is generated when a current flows through the windings of the Inductor and as a result, it presents a higher impedance to higher frequencies as opposed to direct current or low-frequency signals. This inductive reactance is proportional to the frequency of the applied signal, and is calculated with the formula:

where XL is the inductive reactance, f is the frequency of the signal and L is the inductance of the components in Henrys.
