Working Principle

The PLA600F-48-U is an off-line flyback power supply, which is based on Flyback Topology. It is a useful technique to design and build the Power Supply Unit (PSU) with low cost and high stability. The PFC converter is used to improve the overall power factor. It works by controlling the primary current so that it leads the input voltage. This results in improved power factor and lower harmonic distortion.

The secondary control loop is used to regulate the output voltage. It consists of an optocoupler, free-wheeling diode, voltage feedback, voltage error amplifier and current sensing resistor. When the output voltage reaches the desired value, this regulation loop keeps the output voltage stable.
