PM-R45 slot type photocouplers are 4-pin logic output type photointerrupters. They are designed using an infrared LED and a phototransistor and are intended for the detection of black marks, holes or slots in transparent or reflective materials. The PM-R45 is designed to operate in most industrial environments with an operating temperature range of -25°C to +85°C and an isolation voltage of 2000VRMS.
The PW-R45 Logic Output slot type photointerrupter consists of an infrared emitter and a phototransistor mounted in a housing. The infrared emitter sends infrared light through the slot in the housing and the phototransistor receives it. When the slot is blocked, the reception of light is prevented, and no current can flow through the phototransistor. When the source of light is blocked, the reception of light is blocked and the phototransistor is turned off, resulting in a logic "0" output. Conversely, when the slot is clear, light enters and is received by the phototransistor, which then turns on and sends a logic "1" output.
