Fixed InductorsAs a passive component, inductor have a wide application fields in many kinds of electronic devices. A fixed inductor, PM1608-331M, is a typical one whose application and working principle will be introduced in this article. The PM1608-331M is a ferrite device which is constructed with the ferrite core and the coating made from wound copper wire. It has features such as fast delivery, high quality, mainly supplied in 10mm, and excellent heat sink capability. As a widely used inductor, it is mainly employed in the radio frequency signal and device matching circuits. This fixed inductor can reduce the phase error of the signal and strengthen the high-frequency signal, offering a great performance for its shielding effect against strong external interference. Meanwhile, it has excellent frequency-change characteristics and a measured inductance that enables good electrical contact and filter in the signal circuit, resulting in a better signal quality when transmitting with broadband frequency components.As to the working principle, PM1608-331M works by converting alternating current into direct current. Different parameters and components can be used to control the level of output current. As one of the most basic elements of domestic circuits, it also plays a role in stabilizing voltage, as it can effectively filter out low-frequency interference signals and reduce the amount of harmonics generated within and outside the circuit. When an alternate current is applied to the device, it behaves as an inductor which is characterized by some mathematical formulas. That is, the reverberation current (I) generated inside the inductor affects the inductance, which is reflected in the equation: L = L+I(dL/dI), where L and I are the inductance and the reverberation current, respectively. The equation showing the relationship between I and the voltage (V) is I = V(dI/dV).
