It is completely self-contained, and no additional components are needed. The PM3604-8-B-RC transformers can be used in any system requiring signal isolation and low loss operation. The PM3604-8-B-RC provides an isolation of >60dB between ports and a maximum insertion loss of <3dB for a 50-ohm load. This product also possesses an exceptional tight phase match, with a maximum phase error of < ±1° over a typical frequency range of 300 - 3000MHz. Due to its ultra-wideband operation, the PM3604-8-B-RC is an ideal solution for any application where wide signal bandwidths have to be maintained. The PM3604-8-B-RC has excellent power handling capability and can handle up to 10W of RF power. The working principle of the PM3604-8-B-RC works by using two transformer cores that are configured in a center tapped configuration with 4 winding pairs. The first windings pairs of each core are connected together, while the second winding pairs are connected in series, forming a four port "bridge" configuration. The four port "bridge" allows a signal to be transferred from one port to another without any significant losses. The signal is transferred between the ports through the transformer cores which have a high isolation value. The PM3604-8-B-RC also comes with a unique ‘hot-swapping’ feature which allows you to replace the module without powering down the system. This feature eliminates the need for system re configuration and keeps the system up and running in no time.
