Application Field

PMH0603-100-RC is suitable for applications such as high-speed data lines, telephone lines, data BUS cables, power cables, memory cards, short runs of cables, high-speed RF cables, etc. This ferrite chip bead can also be used to protect sensitive circuits against interference from external sources, such as noise generated by a nearby electric motor or television.

Working Principle

PMH0603-100-RC is constructed from a ferromagnetic material which provides a low impedance path for currents induced by external sources. The inductance of the ferrite material creates a high-frequency current allowing signals to pass while blocking common mode noise. The chip ferritebead has two symmetrically opposed and balanced inductors which provide excellent high-frequency performance across a wide bandwidth.

In addition, the PMH0603-100-RC has an insulated shell which prevents the flow of electric current between the two inductors. This insulation helps to reduce polarization of the magnetic material and minimizes any EMI generation within the chip. Finished with gold-plated terminals, the chip ensures a reliable electrical connection between the bead and the circuit board.
