PMP7993 is a multi-output power solution evaluation board from ON Semiconductor which offers up to 4 simultaneous outputs. It is classified under the category of Evaluation Boards – DC/DC & AC/DC (Off-Line) SMPS. The board not only allows for the evaluation of NCP579 and NCP581 integrated pulse width modulation (PWM) controllers, but also helps to provide system designers with the ability to develop suitable solutions.

The boards come with a range of features to make the system more user-friendly and convenient. It is equipped with a 5A NCP578MV synchronous rectification controller, which helps to reduce energy losses and increase efficiency. It also has an inductor current sense circuit, which allows for accurate and reliable monitoring of the output current as well as an on-board EEPROM, allowing the user to store settings and transfer them to other boards.

Also, the user can choose which type of feedback is used -precision voltage mode or current mode. The PMP7993 Evaluation Board has an adjustable output voltage and frequency, allowing for a wide variation of applications to be tested. It also has an isolated output of up to 1.5A, varying from 2.5V to 3.3V, as well as push button and LED controls for easy operation and testing.

PMP7993 evaluation board has a DC output that can be adjusted from 5V to 12V with a maximum power of 60W. It is designed to operate in a wide operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C and has an under-voltage and over-current lockout for each output rail. Additionally, it has an orbiting voltage converter that provides power without the use of a transformer.

The board also provides the user with many safety features. It is equipped with an input EMI filter and transient voltage suppression device, helping to protect against any external EMI interference. In order to further secure the individual power rails, the board includes three current-limited output channels with both short-circuit and over-current protection.
