PNF18-8F-C Application Field and Working Principle

PNF18-8F-C type terminals & connectors are the individual type, spring clamp, screw type terminals used in low voltage wiring, generally in low-power instruments, switches, protective circuits, relays and various electrical and electronic devices.

Application Field

PNF18-8F-C terminals and connectors are used both stud-mounted and also panel mounted with the corresponding panel cutouts. This type of socket is principally designed for connecting low voltage wires. This socket is applicable to the car systems, communication equipment and instrumentation equipment.

Working Principle

PNF18-8F-C spade connector consists of several parts, including the spring-loaded battery terminals, the socket body, the switch cover, and the terminal connection connector. First, the battery shall be inserted from the bottom and the corresponding pole shall be connected with the polarity. The spring loaded terminals provide the safety and reliability connection of the battery with the device. When the switch cover is closed, the internal components will be pressed and connected with the external circuit.

The terminal connection connector in the socket is used for connecting the external lines. The terminal connection of the external line is completed by the crimping tool, which increases the connection reliability. The last step is to screw down the switch cover in the desired direction to ensure the firmness of the connection.

Notes

When assembling the PNF18-8F-C terminal and connector, the polarity should be consistent between the wire and the terminal. In order to ensure the reliability and to reduce the contact resistance, the contact area between the connection wire and the terminal should be sufficient.

To avoid damage to the component, be sure to select the appropriate terminal combination size, that is, the combination of the thicknesses of pin and socket should above 0.5mm and below 1.3mm, and the spacing of the terminals should not be less than 0.5mm.

When working with PNF18-8F-C terminals and connectors, you will need common tools such as wire cutters, pliers, and crimping tools. If you will be doing any soldering work, you might need some additional soldering equipment such as a soldering iron, solder, and flux.
