Evaluation boards are used for the study of DC/DC and AC/DC (off-line) SMPS. POEPHYTEREV-I is one of the most popular evaluation board currently available in the market. The POEPHYTEREV-I evaluation board features a high throughput PWM controller for universal off-line SMPS applications like DC/DC, AC/DC, AC/AC and AC/PFC. It is based on the industry-leading CR6800BD power module and is designed especially for high efficiency operations up to 5.5 W. It also features ultra-low noise operation and a low profile enclosure to save on space. The working principle of the POEPHYTEREV-I evaluation board is based on a Pulse-Width Modulation (PWM) control topology. A feedback control loop is also used in which the input and output of the converter are compared and the PWM is adjusted accordingly.
