PQ50-SC-KY

PQ50-SC-KY is a combination of a common PQ50-SC series rectangular connectors and a dedicated KY type cable accessory, mainly applied in providing reliable, consistent power and signal transmission.

The main features of the PQ50-SC-KY combination are its very low contact resistance, an extremely high number of mating renewability, a high temperature resistance ranging from -40 to +125 degrees Celsius, and the ability to fix cables with an angular lever.

The length of the contact arm of both the male and the female contact section range from 2.8 to 4.3 millimeters, which allow for safe and stable connection. The contact arm of the female section is held upright and fixed snugly by employing a Teflon washer. Meanwhile, the contact arm of the male section is squeezed and fixed by an additional spring wire.

The nominal operating current of the PQ50-SC-KY ranges from 0.14 to 2.5 Amps. It has a voltage rating of 500V AC/DC and insulation resistance of 5000 ohms. The coupling between pins should be in accordance with the Japanese Industrial Standard (JIS) 1051 and 1052.

The contact element of the PQ50-SC-KY is configured with an insulation sleeve, the insulation sleeve is fitted in either a male or a female housing. The female contact has a round shape, the male contact has a square shape. The male contact is equipped with an internal strain-relief clamp and is provided with 2 locking tabs, which help secure the connection.

The reliable connection provided by the PQ50-SC-KY combination can be used in a variety of applications such as: instrumentation systems, data exchange systems, and medical devices. It is also suitable for automation systems, energy saver systems, industrial and automation systems, and robotics applications.

The working principle of the PQ50-SC-KY combination is based on the principle of electrical connection. The male contact section acts as an electrical conductor, which is held in place by the female contact section. The electrical current is transmitted from the male contact through a conductive path to the female contact. This electrical current is then allowed to pass through the insulation sleeve of the female contact section.

This combination of electrical connection ensures that the connection is as reliable as possible, thus avoiding any possible power surge which can cause damage to both the PQ50-SC-KY and any other connected components. This combination of contacts is also corrosion-resistant and allows for an extremely low contact resistance.
