The PS2833-4-A optoisolator, manufactured by Littelfuse, is a 4-pin dual inline package optocoupler dual transistor-out photovoltaic output type. It is designed to provide electrical isolation between two isolated sections of a system, while allowing information or commands to be passed from one section to the other, while maintaining electrical insulation between the isolated sections.

The PS2833-4-A is based upon a photovoltaic output optoisolator, which uses two separate and distinct dip-switch configurations. One dip-switch configuration allows for a +5V power input, and the other dip-switch configuration allows for a 0V power input. The +5V power input is applied to the emitter of the phototransistor, while the 0V power input is applied to the collector of the phototransistor. This allows for the optoisolator to control its electrical separation from the two isolated systems, through the control of the photovoltaic output voltage.

This optocoupler dual transistor-out photovoltaic output type optoisolator is especially suitable for use in industrial, medical, automotive, and consumer applications.
