PT3321A Application Field and Working Principle
PT3321A is a molded DC-DC converter module designed to provide an efficient and reliable alternative power source for embedded and distributed systems. The PT3321A converter family can improve system reliability, reduce system operation expense, and greatly increase system power density. It is able to deliver output power up to 25W when used alone or in parallel configuration, making it an ideal solution for a wide range of demanding applications.
The PT3321A converters offer the following features: Up to 25W output power; Wide input voltage range from 24 VDC to 48 VDC; High isolation voltage up to 4.2 kV; Efficiency up to 91.5%; High-precision voltage output; Over-voltage and over-current protection; Low standby power consumption; and optional remote On/Off control.
The heart of the PT3321A DC-DC converter module is a highly reliable full-bridge transformer, which is composed of three easy-to-assemble components: power transistor, transformer and rectifier diode. A control IC is used to control the power transistor for reliable switching at high frequency. Special circuit design and component selection keeps operation temperature low and device EMI emissions to meet EN 55022, FCC 15 Class B Level 3 standards.
The PT3321A converter has a wide range of application areas, such as industrial automation, medical equipment, telecommunication systems, automotive, industrial control, electric vehicles, renewable energy systems and robots.
In the application, the PT3321A module must be connected in a proper way. First, connect the input wires to proper terminals. Connect ground wire of input isolation capacitor to the converter\'s chassis and the remaining wire to terminal V. Connect the load wires to corresponding terminals, then ground the load wire of output isolation capacitor to the chassis of the output device or system. Then connect the remaining wire of the output isolation capacitor to terminal V2. Now connect the power supply to the DC-DC converter.
