The second stage is the working stage, where the output voltage is maintained at a constant value regardless of the changes in input voltage, temperature, and load current. If any of these conditions change, the duty cycle of the MOSFETs is modified accordingly to maintain the desired output voltage. If the output voltage exceeds the maximum value, the MOSFETs are turned off completely.
The third stage is the power-off stage, where the input voltage is checked for open/short states, overvoltage and polarity reversal. The MOSFETs are turned off in this stage and the module enters a low power consumption state.
