Working Principle

PT6203N provides regulated output voltage with its constant voltage control function. It continuously adjusts its voltage gain according to feedback voltage from the output, therefore allowing it to maintain a constant output voltage despite changes in load or input supply. Voltage and current loop controls are employed to accurately achieve the desired output voltage and current. In addition, it also offers many features to enhance efficiency, such as burst mode, maximum current limit, soft start, and output voltage selection.

PT6203N uses a voltage feedback loop consisting of an error amplifier, opto-coupler, and a divider resistor network. This loop monitors the output voltage and compares it to a reference voltage. Any difference between the two voltages signals the error amplifier to adjust the output voltage via the control output.

PT6203N also contains a current loop which monitors the output current. It compares the output current to the current limit setting by employing an internal current sense resistor, and adjusts its gain accordingly. With a single output current limit setting, it is able to provide maximum output current and current sharing capability.

Through its current and voltage loops, PT6203N is able to maintain a constant output voltage no matter what the load conditions are. It is designed for high efficiency operations, low ripple and noise, wide input voltage range, and current mode control.
