The PT6922N is a High-Efficiency, Step-up DC-DC converter manufactured by Power Technology, Inc., and is used in a wide variety of applications.The PT6922N is a high-efficiency, low-noise voltage regulator module built for use in high-current DC-DC conversion systems. It utilizes Power Technology’s highly-efficient, high-reliability power Conversion IC, the PT6922N-F IC. This IC is capable of providing up to 80% efficiency for a variety of applications and features a start-up quiescent current of less than 1uA. It is capable of regulating the output voltage from a range of 4.5V to 15V and providing a maximum output current of 5A. The PT6922N also boasts an operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C and a soft-start feature designed to minimize current overshoots during start-up.The PT6922N uses a Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) Control scheme to regulate the output voltage. In this scheme, the output voltage is controlled by varying the pulse width of the switching regulator’s output. When the required output voltage increases, the pulses are widened in order to increase the output voltage. Conversely, when the required output voltage decreases, the pulses are narrowed in order to decrease the output voltage. This allows the converter to continuously adjust the output voltage as needed.The PT6922N is designed for a wide range of applications, including but not limited to: portable power systems, equipment for 12V and 24V automotive applications, consumer electronics, telecommunication systems, industrial equipment, medical devices, computers, and robotics. By utilizing a low-noise, high-efficiency integrated circuit, the PT6922N is capable of providing reliable, stable power to these applications. As a result, it is an ideal choice for those applications that require a reliable and efficient DC-DC converter. In addition to its power conversion capabilities, the PT6922N also includes several protection features for enhanced system reliability. It includes current limit protection, short circuit protection, and an over-temperature protection circuit. The current limit protection detects and limits the output current in order to protect the voltage regulator\'s output from over-current conditions. The short-circuit protection circuit detects and shuts down the output when a short-circuit condition is detected. This protects the device and the system from damage due to excessive current. Finally, the over-temperature protection circuit helps to protect the device from damage due to excessive heat. Overall, the PT6922N is a highly reliable and efficient DC-DC converter.
