PTC resettable fuses are a type of current limiting devices that, after overheating due to an overload or a short circuit, will go into a high-resistance state. The resistance of PTC resettable fuses allows a current to keep flowing, but at a level that reduces the amount of energy the fuse will be exposed to.

PTCTZ3MR500STE is the model of a PTC resettable fuse from Littelfuse.
