PTC resettable fuses are considered as one of the most efficient forms of overcurrent protection. The PTS12066V110 is a miniature, low voltage, one-time polymeric positive temperature coefficient (PPTC) resettable fuse used as self-resetting overcurrent protection for circuits, appliances and devices. When current flows in the fuse, the increasing temperature causes the fuse\'s polymer to increase resistance until eventually, at a loading-dependent trip point, the resistance increases significantly to limit or interrupt the current. Upon return of the current to below the trip point, the timing cycle begins again.

This fuse has a wide range of applications, including providing overcurrent protection for small appliances and electronic equipment, such as printers, computers, DVD player and other home entertainment devices. When the temperature reaches a certain level, this leads to an increased resistance that will cause the current to be limited or interrupted. When the current is removed, the temperature of the polymer decreases and the resistance returns to its normal level. This self-resetting process will repeat each time the current is applied.

The PST12066V110 features a resettable, non-linear current-limiting performance with trip curves that show a decreasing trip time at higher current. It has a self-resetting capacitance of 75mOhms, along with a maximum current rating of 10A. It has a maximum surge current rating of 20A (10ms) and a maximum hold current of 16A. It is designed to operate in temperatures ranging from -40° to +125°C, with a voltage rating of 3Vdc or 6Vdc. It is UL Recognized at 125°C and is ISO 9001 and RoHS compliant.
