Film Capacitors

PVC4047 is a film capacitor, a kind of fixed capacitor (non-variable), which has wide application fields and variable working principles. Due to its smaller size and good performance, PVC4047 is gradually used in a wider range and fields, such as anti-jamming in telecom systems, EMI filters, frequency conversion power supply power source, radios, etc.

The application of film capacitors depends on the characteristics of the dielectric material. It can be classified into the organic dielectric film capacitors and the inorganic dielectric film capacitors. PVC4047 belongs to organic dielectric film capacitors. Its dielectric material is polyvinyl chloride (PVC), which has the advantages of wide temperature range, high breakdown voltage, stable performance, easy shaping, lower costs, etc.

PVC4047 generally consists of two pieces of annular plastic films with two metallic layers on their both sides, an insulating film and a tight wrapping for protecting. Specifically, when the voltage is applied between the two metal layers, the electric field will emerge inside of the PVC film, hence the electric field generates a dielectric effect and capacitive characteristics. The overlap of those areas of the two metal layers generated electric charges and form the equivalent capacitor. PVC4047 capacitor has the advantages of low costs and smaller size, which make it convenient to use in many consumer electronic products such as electric stove, electric water heater, LED lamps etc. Unlike the traditional aluminum electrolytic capacitors and disc ceramic capacitors, the dielectric loss is smaller so its performance is better.

Furthermore, PVC4047 is environmental friendly and safe when used in electric products, which make it applicable for high-temperature environment, as well as bigger capacitance and capacity. It is closely related to insulation, bypass, peak pulse current and high frequency filtering components in electronic products. It is also commonly used in switching power supply, high and low frequency filters, and harmonic eliminators.
