When the shaft of a p-trim is rotated, the movable contact within the unit moves along a resistor track and causes the resistance value to change. This change in resistance generates a voltage change in the circuit according to Ohm’s Law.The PVC6E202A01B00 p-trim uses a resistor element made up of a ceramic track with a conductive path made of silver palladium (AgPd) material, and a sliding contact that is moved along the ceramic track when the shaft is rotated. The resistor track is divided into four parallel sections, each having a nominal resistance of 0.5 ohms with a 10 dB change in resistance across each section.
