It is a compact, integrated module consisting of a high-performance, low noise, low power amplifier as well as four bandpass filters. It acts as a transmitter in the 887~914MHz band, a receiver in the 881~928MHz band, and a transceiver in the 881~914MHz band. When used as a receiver, the PX0885/02/S delivers a maximum gain of 19dB and a maximum input power of 0dBm. As a transmitter, the module delivers a maximum gain of 34dB and a maximum output power of 30dBm. As a transceiver, the module delivers a maximum gain of 23dB and a maximum output power of 20dBm.

The working principle of the PX0885/02/S module is based on the widely used superheterodyne receiver design. In addition to having a conventional frequency stage with a variable oscillator frequency, it also uses a Local Oscillator (LO) stage for frequency conversion. The Local Oscillator is used to convert the incoming RF signal into an intermediate signal (IF) by mixing the incoming RF signal with the LO signal. The IF signal is then amplified, filtered, and demodulated before being output from the module.

The PX0885/02/S is designed for use in a variety of applications, including cellular basestations, radio systems, and military communications systems. Its high level of integration makes it especially suitable for applications where space is limited.
