Working Principle

The PYB10-Q24-S15-T is a flyback converter type DC/DC converter, meaning that it utilizes dual inductors and switches to convert the voltage from one DC output to another. In this case, this converter converts 12 VDC (input voltage) to 2 VDC (output voltage).

The input voltage is switched to the two inductors by the two main switches. At the same time, this same voltage is applied to the output diode, creating a parallel path. When the input switch closes, the energy is then stored in the two inductors as magnetic flux. When the input switch opens, the energy stored in the two inductors is transferred to the output.

The two inductors then provide an alternating output voltage, which is then converted to a direct current (DC) voltage by the output diode. The output DC voltage is then controlled by the output capacitor which acts like a low-pass filter, eliminating the high frequency flux and noise in the output signal.
